Strategy-only client project · Merida Medical

A clearer patient journey. Stronger trust.

A research-led strategy foundation for an all-inclusive medical tourism brand. The work defined a proposed position, audience questions, brand voice, content pillars, patient journey, channel direction, and measurement plan.

The project

Built from research.
Planned around trust.

The project began with a new account and no established content library. I developed the strategic foundation to help the brand explain its offer, answer patient questions, and make the path to an inquiry easier to understand.

Medical tourism can feel like a major decision. The strategy focused on reducing uncertainty through clear education, verifiable trust signals, transparent information, and a step-by-step view of the patient journey.

My scope was strategy and brand direction. I mapped the audience, reviewed competitor positioning, and outlined the content and channel plan the brand could use next.

Research & positioning

Find the space
between price and distance.

The competitor analysis looked at how medical tourism brands present value, experience, trust, and travel. The strategy looked for a clear place for Merida Medical to stand without relying on discount messaging alone.

Pattern explored

Price-first

Some competitors lead with low prices and fast outcomes. The strategy identified a need to explain value and care in more depth.

Pattern explored

Experience-first

Other brands sell an aspirational medical travel experience. Long-distance travel can add effort for North American patients.

Opportunity identified

Trust + access

The proposed direction connects patient education, visible trust signals, convenience, and a more supported journey in Mérida.

Proposed position

A premium, well-supported medical tourism option for North American patients who want clear information and a guided experience closer to home. This is the strategic direction developed for the brand, not a claim about clinical outcomes.

Content pillars

Four themes to guide
future communication.

These are strategic content themes, not completed social posts. Each theme gives the brand a useful way to answer a different patient question.

01

Safety & trust

Explain credentials, standards, and care processes with facts the clinic can verify and approve.

02

Medical clarity

Use plain language to explain services, treatment steps, preparation, and common questions.

03

Recovery & care

Set realistic expectations about the patient journey and share approved stories with consent.

04

Concierge support

Show how logistics, scheduling, accommodation, and follow-up could be explained to patients.

Careful medical communication: credentials, certifications, treatment details, pricing, and outcome statements should be verified and approved by the clinic before publication.
Audience & journey

Move from questions
to a clear next step.

I mapped the information a prospective patient may need at each stage, so future content can answer concerns before asking for an inquiry.

01 · Awareness

Discover

Introduce the brand, its location, and the kind of support it offers.

02 · Education

Understand

Answer service, process, preparation, and travel questions in plain language.

03 · Trust

Evaluate

Make approved credentials, care standards, and team information easy to find.

04 · Consideration

Plan

Clarify inclusions, logistics, pricing, and what happens at each step.

05 · Inquiry

Connect

Offer one clear contact path for questions or a consultation request.

The plan also included post-inquiry nurturing and retention communications, subject to the clinic’s workflow, patient consent, and approved policies.

My strategy work

A foundation the team
can build from.

The strategy connected market research with practical direction for future content, brand communication, and channel planning.

Audience & positioning

Prospective patient questions, target audience direction, and a proposed position in the market.

Brand direction

Mission, values, personality, voice, and visual identity guidance for consistent communication.

Content framework

Four content pillars, topic themes, formats, and a calendar framework for future planning.

Patient journey map

A path from awareness and education through trust, consideration, and inquiry.

Growth & channels

Direction for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn, with future channel options noted.

Measurement plan

Performance measures to help the team review reach, engagement, inquiries, and next steps.

Strategy only — no social graphics or campaign execution.

I developed the research, brand direction, audience journey, and content strategy. I did not create or publish social posts, produce videos, or report campaign results for this project.

behind the strategy.

These research files informed the proposed positioning and content framework for Merida Medical.

Research documents are strategy materials, not medical advice or guarantees of treatment outcomes. All medical claims and details require review by the provider.
